Newsletter #192
First up, good luck to the All Blacks as they face the Wallabies this weekend. Sure there is not much riding on the game, but beating Australia at anything never gets old.
It will be a massive week next week as the countdown kicks on to the 2017 Rugby league World Cup.
On Friday it is of course our massive Kiwis lunch at Ellerslie, and tickets are selling pretty well, but we can still fit you in if you want to get along to a truly unique event. All the details are in the newsletter.
It will be home to watch the opening game of the tournament that night, when the Kangaroos take on England, and of course on the Saturday I will be at Mt Smart to watch the Kiwis take on Samoa.
I have to confess to a little disappointment that match tickets are not flying out the door. When we had the Rugby World Cup it was sold out weeks in advance, now the All Whites – and good luck to them – have Peru on the way as their final hurdle to qualifying for the Football World Cup, and they managed to sell 20,000 tickets in an hour.
League fans need to get out and support the event, and I for one won’t be broken-hearted if we can attract a bit of cross cosde support too. It is a fabulous event witht he rworld’s best palyers, and it will be a total shame if the grounds are not humming.
So come on sports fans, and go the Kiwis. I can’t wait.
