Newsletter #193

First up congratulations to motor-racing driver Brendan Hartley for his debut in Formula One racing. A superb achievement and great to see a Kiwi in the big time again. And my congratulations too, to the Black Caps, who pulled off an astonishing win in India in the one-day game. We won’t say too much about the rugby, but even the All Blacks can’t win every game, and we need to keep it in perspective. But on to the game I love, rugby league, and we are just days away from the Kiwis kicking off their 2017 Rugby league World Cup campaign on Saturday night against Samoa. I can’t wait. I’m hoping we get a decent crowd, because, to be fair, the ticket sales have been a bit disappointing. Of course on the Friday it is the big Kiwis lunch, there’s more about it in the newsletter, and we have about 300 coming for that. There’s room for you too, so if you want to come, don’t despair, we will fit you in. And at $100 a ticket, with a $52 ticket to the Kiwis v Samoa thrown in, you won’t find a better deal in town! Go the Kiwis and have a great week. Sir Peter Charles Leitch KNZM QSM Chief NZ Ambassador for Rugby League World Cup 2017
