Newsletter #221
Well done all the fans who turned up to support the Vodafone Warriors at the Manly game in Christchurch last weekend.
I know people travelled from all around the country to be there, so close to a sell-out and a great promotion for rugby league.
I watched the game on the TV from the comfort of Waiheke, and congratulations to the Sky team for the pre-match build-up, which was fantastic.
Christchurch certainly turned on a fantastic night weather-wise, and of course thing were topped of with a great win for the Vodafone Warriors.
We travel away this week and play the Cowboys in Townsville on Friday night, one I am looking forward to very much.
It was sad to hear Simon Mannering has retired from international rugby league. I had a good talk to him last night and understand his reasons.
I personally have a lot of respect for the man I’ve got to know very well over the years.
He is someone very special and we are blessed to have him play for our club.
Enjoy the read. Miles Davis has done a great story on Laura Mariu and John Coffey has done a nice piece on someone very close to me, Gary Clarke.
David Kemeys keeps us entertained with his column, and I pay a tribute to Justin Wallace, who put the game in Christchurch on.
Remember the newsletter is done with love, no ads are paid for, we all just love rugby league and want to share that love.
You are more than welcome to send any news you have to us to share with our readers.
Have a great week and let’s all share the love out there.
