What can I say about the invasion of Mt Smart Stadium? I wasn’t at the game but I watched it on TV and let me tell you, the atmosphere and the singing came through magnificently. Instead of me writing about it I asked a very good friend of mine who captained the Kiwis and Tonga, Duane Mann, to write something about the night. Make sure you read it because he has done an outstanding job. Tongan Rugby League holds a special place in my heart. A beautiful friend of mine from my old club the Mangere East Hawks, George Mann Senior, is the person responsible for getting it off the ground. But read Duane’s article because he has covered the journey very well. A big weekend of sport coming up with the Mitre 10 cup final being at Eden Park between Auckland V Canterbury, a game that will be a ripper and it’s absolutely free entry - unbelievable. After that it is the All Blacks playing a test in Japan against our old rivals Australia and the New Zealand rugby league Kiwis play their first test in the UK. The Kiwis will be announced Friday morning when I’ll be heading to Waiheke to get a few kayaks in between watching sport on TV. Let’s all share the love out there and have a great week and enjoy your weekend. Sir Peter Charles Leitch KNZM QSM
