Sir Peter Leitch's Club Newsletter

Newsletter #179

Congratulations to the Black Socks, a stunning come from behind 6-4 win over Australia has made them the world softball champions for the seventh time. Wonder if they will get a parade up Queen St...just asking? Disappointing to lose to the Panthers and see Shaun Johnson badly injured, but on the positive side the club did a fantastic job farewelling Manu Vatuvei, and for all those people who berated me on Facebook about how he should have been playing, his contract with Salford prohibited it! Out of Johnson’s injury comes the first chance in two years for Mason Lino to play first grade. He would not have wanted to get his chance this way, but I can tell you this for nothing. He is a fine young man who never complains about his lot, just gets on with training and doing his best o add something to the squad. And a new way to deliver the newsletter this week, courtesy of Hayden, who toils away putting the newsletter together. It could take 30-40 hours to send it out, so many people are now subscribed. This way we can get it out more efficiently. We are away to Townsville to play the Cowboys this weekend, and are overdue some success, so go the Vodafone Warriors.
