Newsletter #186

Well we may not have won on Sunday night but I certainly had a great few days in Sydney catching up with some very good friends and spending some quality time with them, plus I had the pleasure of spending some time with the team in the hotel and it was great catching up with some of our fans at the game in the fan zone. The West Tigers had former Mangere East player Olsen Filipaina as a special guest on the day and he was introduced to the crowd before the game after being interviewed in a corporate lounge before kick-off, so it was great to catch up with my old mate, and Kiwi league legend. One bloke drove two hours to be at the game and then drove back home straight after and he can't wait to get behind the team next year. I have to say I had the pleasure of talking to some fantastic fans and I also got to spend some quality time with our new CEO Cameron George, who is all fired up to fix the problems at the club. He will take no prisoners. Tonight I'm of to the Vodafone Warriors Juniors prizegiving at Mt Smart and then I'm off to the Gold Coast the next day with my wife for a few days rest to recharge the batteries because September is a very busy month for me. It’s Blue September and as patron of the Prostate Cancer Foundation I have a hell of a lot of functions to attend. It was fantastic to see the Silver Ferns win over Australia and I hope our Kiwi league boys were watching because it is not long now to the Rugby League World Cup Sir Peter Charles Leitch KNZM QSM Chief NZ Ambassador for Rugby League World Cup 2017
