Sir Peter Leitch's Club Newsletter

Newsletter #224

I’m not talking about referees or forward passes. I’m over it. But what I am going to tell you is that I’m looking forward to going to Brisbane next week with my family for a holiday. By happy coincidence there is a State of Origin game and the Vodafone Warriors are playing the Broncos in Brisbane so I will get two games of league - it’s like I’ve won lotto. This week we are away in Aussie taking on the Penrith Panthers, so I’ll be up to go and watch my grandson play soccer, and on Friday night I will head to my beloved Mangere East clubrooms for the official opening of extensions they have done. It is where my journey with league began more than 52 years ago, and it is always a pleasure to return there. I want to commend the Vodafone Warriors for the initiative taken for our home game against the Melbourne Storm. If we can sell Mt Smart out, the club will donate $50,000 between its chosen charities, so I'll be doing my best to sell as many tickets as I can. In fact I’ve already sold two, to the Mad Butcher franchise holder in Nelson, Dan Perrin, who played for the Crusaders. Someone else who is keen to do his bit is Rugby World Cup winning coach Sir Graham Henry, a great friend of mine - and to our supporter's club to be fair. He is backing a Plunket raffle so there are details in the newsletter, and I want you all to back him. Even our own man David Kemeys blew the dust off his wallet and bought some, so you can too.And find me a massive thank you to the three all Blacks that were out guest in the Stacey Jones lounge on Friday night They were fantastic guests your see a few photos of them in the newsletter Have a fantastic weekend and let's share the love out there.
