Sir Peter Leitch's Club Newsletter

Newsletter #231

Congratulations to the New Zealand Rugby League for appointing Motu Tony to manager for high-performance. I have a lot of respect for Motu and I’m sure he will do an outstanding job Brooke Hurndell has done a nice piece in the newsletter which you should read to learn more about the appointment. New CEO at NZRL Greg Peters has settled in well and has got things moving along which pleases the Butcher! Personally, I can’t remember a more up and down season ever in the NRL. It’s been a real rollercoaster ride for most of the clubs. The mighty Vodafone Warriors have two home games left. One this Friday against the Panthers and one next Friday against the Eels. All going well Simon Mannering will play his 300th game for the club and we only need one win to secure our place in the top eight. So come on boys bring home the bacon for the Butcher and the fans. I woke early this morning and watched the Fan on Sky Sport channel 52 where Andrew Voss interviewed Vodafone Warriors Legend Stacey Jones (261 games for the club) and Darrell Hallagan who played for the Kiwis and Bulldogs. If you missed it it’s replaying tonight at 6pm on Sky Sport NZ channel 52. It’s worth taking the time to watch. I have a big day coming up on Friday breakfast with my league mates Doug Woon and John Young and it’s Johns birthday as well. Then off to lunch at Eden Park with my good mate Sir Graham Henry supporting the Rugby Foundation. I’ve even donated a signed Vodafone Warriors jersey for them to auction off. It will be interesting to see how much it goes for at a rugby function. Then it’s of to Mt Smart Stadium for a massive night. Gates opening at 5.15pm. Curtain raiser 5.30pm where the New Zealand Police rugby league team take on the Australian police team. Then the big one, Vodafone Warriors V Penrith Panthers get your tickets for the game at Ticketek New Zealand or at the game. Yes, we will be doing a tour of Mt Smart leaving from the Stacey jones lounge all welcome details in the newsletter. And as a valued member of this newsletter we will be sending out an exclusive offer presale to get along to the Trans-Tasman showdown when the Kiwis take on the Kangaroos and the Kiwi Ferns go head to head with the Jillaroos. Plus the Junior Kiwis take on the Junior Kangaroos. So watch your inbox on Thursday for more details and your chance to secure tickets for this fantastic day of test matches at Mount Smart Stadium on the 13th of October. Enjoy the rest of your week and remember to share the love out there Sir Peter Charles Leitch KNZM QSM
